Plot Synopsis

Plot Synopsis

A plague has hit Britain; PARASITE V12. A cure consisting of dead PARASITE V12 and Swine Flu cells is being delievered to Britain's doctors by Artnal Benzies (Toby Yates). On the way, alongside his mysteriously named henchman, Dufrais (Niall Murphy), Antione Draynor (Daniel Awcock) plots to use the cure to create a weapon that infects and kills the recipient. He receives the serum, but a mad rush to win it back by Ukranian Cancer cure researcher Zinoviev Pernot-Vichevsky (Sam Nicholson) means the chase escalates. As lives are lost by the parasite, and in the fight for the cure, priorities are tested and the serum is leaked into a sealed room, containing Artnal, Dufrais, Antione and Zinoviev. Through their fight for what they believe is right, the only cure is lost and kills them all in the sealed room, leaving Britain, and the rest of the world to its inevitable fate.

  1. You still appear not to understand what is required here! You all need to listen more carefully to advice to avoid underachieving on this. The synopsis above is written in vague terms only and still does not explain how this journey of a suitcase would begin a film lasting at least 90 mins. You do need to take this seriously as you are marked on the extent to which your opening is appropriate as the opening of a feature length film, and you need to convince us that there is a story to continue. You are all a long way from achieving the level required at this stage. Currently the blog and each of you would struggle to achieve a good level 2 (D), let alone 3 or 4.

  2. Despite what you said Sam yesterday, you still appear not to understand what is required here, or you are simply being resistant to the expectations! Whichever it is, this is still not enough, and if anything, this has become even more vague - if that's possible! You have to have character names, you need a story from the beginning of the plot to the end, and you have to be absolutely clear about the details of your story. You need character motivations, problems, antagonists, and an ending! There should be no questions in your synopsis - you are not writing a dvd blurb as I've now said over and over again. You seem to think this is meant to be a teaser of some kind, but it's not - this is for your assessment, and what you have written will not pass this stage of the planning. You might find it easier to use Todorov's theory as a basis so that you have the stages in place. Your story can adapt this structure, and you may not included all of the story in the plot, or you may rearrange the story. But there must be detail here! Have a look at a blog from last year, or an IMDB full plot synopsis on the IMDB website - only the length of what we ask is different, and you are free to write as much as you need to.
